Baseball Club

Research Lower Plenty Baseball Club is a proud member of the community.

Founded in 1955, originally as the Research Baseball Club, our club was one of the two founding clubs in the then Diamond Valley Baseball Association. Known as the Roadrunners, the now named Research Lower Plenty Baseball Club provides a welcoming environment with baseball playing options for juniors and seniors over both winter and summer seasons for both men and women.

70th anniversary

In 2025, the Research Lower Plenty Baseball Club proudly celebrated its 70th anniversary. The event brought together past and present players, coaches, families, and supporters to honour seven decades of history, community, and passion for the game.

The night was filled with laughter, stories, and heartfelt tributes to those who have shaped the club’s journey since 1955. A commemorative video premiered during the evening, capturing highlights from across the decades and reminding everyone of the strength and spirit that define the Roadrunner legacy.

Ian Hulmes Pavillion

The Research Lower Plenty Baseball Club officially opened their new clubhouse, the Ian Hulmes Pavillion in March, 2021.

The new clubhouse offers spectacular views of the playing field from both the social room or the deck, a modern and user-friendly kitchen and bar areas, and new change room facilities for our players.

From the moment you walk into the clubhouse, it is clear our club is about connecting, acknowledging our long history and creating lifelong friendships.
